Roll up shades or window blinds have slats that are mainly used to prevent light from entering a room. The slats are made of wood, metal, fabric or even plastic. Metal blinds are usually used for outdoors as they are weather resistant and durable. These blinds have a string or a cord which enables one to change the degree of the slats, depending on the amount of light required. Slats on these blinds can be either horizontal or vertical. Horizontal window blinds are more commonly known as Venetian blinds. The vertical roll up blinds, though not as common as horizontal ones, are easier to use and clean, and can even be used for doors.
I knew a woman once who re-arranged the furniture every time she cleaned a room. Said that was the only way the room felt clean to her. Yeowch, that's a little much for me, but I still like a little change in my life once in a while. Like a good spring cleaning, a little change can make things feel fresh again.
Net Curtains: They are made from translucent fabric. They are also called sheer curtains. It allows maximum passage of light, while blocking the UV rays. During the day, you can see through sheer curtains, due to their translucent nature. They are also called privacy curtains, because you can see through these curtains when you are inside your home, and not the other way round. They provide minimum heat insulation too.
