A nicely done window treatment is gong to contribute a lot to your interior. The idea seems so simple; however, you still can pay a little more attention to find out the right type of curtain panels and rods that matches up aesthetically with the rest of the interior.
Hanging Drapes The materials you will require are a measuring tape, and a screwdriver or a drill. The first step is to measure the length and width of the window where you want to hang the drapes. The exact measurements should be taken so that the drapes fit in well. Accordingly, choose the drapes. There are different types of drapes available, like the elegant ones which go down till the floor, while the casual ones end a bit above or below the window sill. You can choose according to the look you want to give your windows. If you want, you can also opt for embroidered drapery fabric. The next step is to pick up an appropriate curtain rod. Some of us like the end of the rod sticking out slightly, while others like when the drapes completely cover the rod. According to the style and pattern you want, choose the curtain rod. Make sure that it fits in well through the holes which are present at the top of the drape. The next step is to decide in which way to hang the rod for the drapes. After deciding, hang on either side of the window, fasten the brackets with the help of a motorized drill, which will make your job easy. For a less fancy and small rod, you can secure the rod with tacks or large nails. Now, on the bracket, secure the rod and check the drapes. Analyze the length of the drapes and check if all of them are even. With this, you have completed the procedure of installing the drapes. Hanging Pleated Drapes The materials you will require for this are drapery pin hooks, or quick hooks, and of course, the pleated drapes. On a flat and clean surface, lay out the drapes with the rear side of the drapes facing upward. The next step is to insert a pin hook or a quick hook at each pleat. If you are inserting pin hooks, take care that you slide the sharp pin under the stitches, until it is hidden completely in the fabric and only the hook is visible. If you are using quick hooks, slide the double prong teeth under one side of the pleat. While doing this, take care that both sides of the pleat are around the teeth. The bottom of the hook should be present at the bottom of the pleat, and only the hook end should protrude out. A hook should be inserted on one of the sides of the drape. This is applicable only to the drapes which you are going to attach to the wall drapery brackets. If you are planning to join the drapes at the center, like the double-pleated panels, use a quick hook for connecting both the panels at the center. For mounting the drapes, insert each hook over the rod, and then into the rod holes. Drapes should be put up in such a way that they don't cause a problem while cleaning the windows. A French door, also referred to as French window, is made up of window panes and glass panels. Each pane is separated by a wooden frame. These panes are rectangular in shape, and make up a large surface of the door. Curtains are generally made in order to allow a lot of sunlight inside the room. It is also used as a room divider.
Vertical blinds are the best ones for half arches. Half arches are usually a bit curved, where you can easily fit vertical blind runners. Vertical blinds in solid colors or soft designs are the best picks to spice up your interiors. These blinds must be used when you have long windows. Instead of having 3 - 4 slots of horizontal blinds, vertical blinds are a better pick. You can have these for complete or half-arched windows.
