There are some really easy ways to bring that fresh feeling into your home without spring cleaning or re-arranging the furniture. One of the easiest ways is to use curtain holdbacks. You can get a whole-room new look just by installing holdbacks to use with your existing curtains.
The best part about curtain holdbacks? They don't have to cost more than a lunch trip at the drive-through. And with the many, many styles available in so many different finishes you'll have fun selecting coordinating holdbacks for your all windows!
Take a soap or ammonia solution. Wear cotton gloves, dip your fingers in the solution, and run them over the blinds one by one, from right to left and over the edges. You can also use a small paint brush to remove dust from the slats.
Wrought iron curtains are known for their long life and ease of installation. However, before you install your new rods, take into account their size. If you purchased a rather thick rod, it will be heavier and may require extra support for proper installation. Just imagine a heaver curtain rod with even heavier drapes all pulling on your wall. Look for support brackets to help spread the weight. If unsure, ask a customer service person at your local hardware store for advice.
