What are your options? You can choose from standard rods, spring-loaded rods, traverse rods, decorative rods, adjustable rods, magnetic rods, double and triple rods . . . made from brass, chrome, ivory, graphite, mahogany, teak, walnut, plastic, metal . . . . And we haven't even mentioned color or style yet!
Roll up shades or window blinds have slats that are mainly used to prevent light from entering a room. The slats are made of wood, metal, fabric or even plastic. Metal blinds are usually used for outdoors as they are weather resistant and durable. These blinds have a string or a cord which enables one to change the degree of the slats, depending on the amount of light required. Slats on these blinds can be either horizontal or vertical. Horizontal window blinds are more commonly known as Venetian blinds. The vertical roll up blinds, though not as common as horizontal ones, are easier to use and clean, and can even be used for doors.
While adding blinds, colors and combos matter a lot. If you are fitting wooden blinds, then it is best to have the entire set in single color and type of wood. When fixing vinyl or fabric blinds, you have a lot of color options. You can have the arched part covered in plain solid color, and the lower part in printed patterns with the same background color as used for the arch. Further, make sure that the window frame looks bold enough. This will ensure that the blinds do not overshadow the basic arch structure.
